Living a life guided by the Spirit of God involves openness and readiness. Meister Eckhart, a spirituality expert from the 13th century, said that whoever turns to the Spirit of God will be led by Him [1].
But how do we reach this state?
First steps include openness and receptivity, as Jesus advised in Matthew 7: "Seek and you shall find" [2]. Two real-life examples illustrate these principles. Martin Luther, who challenged the religious establishment during the Reformation, remained open to the Spirit’s guidance despite facing significant challenges [2]. Maria von Ägypten, a desert dweller in the 4th century, spent years in solitude and was guided by the Spirit, but still had to confront obstacles [3].
To continue working with the Spirit of God, action is required. Psalm 40:8 states that "The Lord has made me and restored me; He did not abandon me, nor leave me alone" [4]. To sin and be saved means taking steps towards growth, allowing ourselves to be guided by the Spirit.
Living under God’s guidance is not an empty promise but a practical reality, requiring openness, readiness, and actions. Our decisions impact the world around us.
